The Beaumont Chiefs continued to shine this week with two more wins on Oct. 12 and 16.

The Friday night home game against the Beverly Warriors ended with a close 3-2 win for the Chiefs. Head coach Warren Tomalty described the game as a back-and-forth affair.

The two teams play a similar style and the Warriors brought their A-game into our barn. I don’t feel that we responded all that well over the first two periods and seemed tense and indecisive at times,” commented Tomalty in an email. “The boys settled down in the third period and took control back.”

Tuesday night’s game the Chiefs were up against the Sherwood Park Knights. Once again the Chiefs were victorious with a solid 6-3 win.

[The Knights] have moved up the standings this season and we expect[ed] a tough run from them. They have several players in the top 10 scoring leaders as well as top-notch goaltending,” Tomalty said.

Despite the high-calibre players on the other team, Tomalty added that the Beaumont Chiefs played a spirited game.

This Friday, Oct. 19, the Chiefs will be on the road again to face off with the Stony Plain Flyers.

Friday we will be off to Stony [Plain] for a road trip game. Here again we are facing an unknown foe with many new players in their lineup over last year’s group. They are off to a solid start and their record in the other division has them in second place so we best be prepared for another tough outing,” Tomalty said.
