Beaumont is diving into the fall season with the annual community awareness event.

The 36th annual Fall Awareness event will be held at the Centre Communautaire Beaumont Community Centre (CCBCC) on Sept. 5 from 7-8:30 p.m.

This year, just over 30 exhibitors from Beaumont and area are scheduled to attend. Beaumont and area residents can use Fall Awareness as a one-stop shop to register and sign up for fall programming, sports and recreation, volunteer opportunities and to check in with their local community groups, organizations and not-for-profits.

“There’s a really good selection of different types of groups that will be there. There’s everything from the [Beaumont] Library, to karate, to the curling club to the Artist’s Association to the Rabbit Hill Ski Club,” said Cheryl Baxter, community events coordinator for the City of Beaumont.

This year, the event will coincide with the annual volunteer appreciation bbq, which will be held at the CCBCC from 6-7:30 p.m. The event includes a free bbq and family-friendly games for kids for Beaumont’s hardworking volunteers.

“We are pairing this one together with the [Community Volunteer Organizations] bbq in appreciation for all the different community volunteer organizations in Beaumont,” Baxter said. “Definitely anybody who volunteers in Beaumont is welcome to come out with their family.”
