Welcome to September at the Library. Our six-week programs for babies to six years are now open for registration. Early literacy and school readiness classes are offered in French and English with several schedule options to choose from. Sign up today for these affordable, fun groups starting Sept. 9. Saturday, Sept. 7, 12:30-3:30 p.m brings a Newsletters Workshop with Stan Gerber. Learn tips and tricks to make those newsletters easier. For anyone writing Christmas letters or monthly news for organizations, register today. $10/person.

Games of Yesteryear kicks off our September Seniors Corner. Join us Tuesday, Sept. 10, 1-2:30 p.m. for a fun event. Tea and cookies will be served afterward. No charge, but please call to register.

Sign up for our Fall Language Classes starting the week of Sept. 14. We are offering Spanish for Beginners and Spanish Level 2, American Sign Language Level 1 and Level 2, and a multi-level French course. Check our website for details.

Artisan Natalia Yashnikova is back to introduce the art of needle felting. Making a small bear to take home, you will learn the technique using a special needle and wool. Sunday, Sept. 15, 12-4 p.m. Cost is $45; all materials supplied. Registration is required.

ESL Circle for Newcomers continues to meet on Thursdays 6:30-8 p.m., except for the second Thursday each month. Come out and meet some new friends. Everyone is welcome.

French Club is back on the third Wednesday each month at 7 p.m. A friendly opportunity to practice your conversational skills. Feel free to drop in for the art of conversation en française. We have also added a Spanish Conversation Club to the third Wednesdays at 7 p.m. as well. Drop-in for this casual get together and brush up on your day-to-day Spanish. For all levels; everyone is welcome.

Ealanta Photography is offering a two-part Teen Photography course for 12-16 years. Sundays, 2-3:30 p.m. Sept. 22 and Oct. 6. Cost is $55/person. Sign up today for this hands-on session. Please note, a digital camera with an interchangeable lens is required.

The Legendaries exhibit is on display until Sept. 25, 2019. This collection of Haida-style illustrations was created in tribute to the stoic beauty of Haida Gwaii art. As we kick off Alberta Culture Days Celebrations, the Artists Association of Beaumont will be exhibiting their work starting Sept. 27.

September Swing! Start off with the wonderful music of Beaumont choirs, the Tiny Tweets and Chickadees at 12:30 p.m. Then on to an afternoon of swing, where people of all ages and skill can come together, participate and learn to dance with Hit That Jive Productions. Join us for a swinging good time Saturday, Sept. 28, 12:30-4 p.m. Celebrate Alberta Culture!
